The Encouragement Express: Steve Jobs, the iPhone, and Communication!
The Express Lane
The iPhone – one of the marvels of all time.
Almost anyone who walks has one.
I’d say there’s a monumental probability that all Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha members have one glued to their ear.
And Gen Beta, those born between 2025 to 2039, are in the batter’s box warming up.
It goes without saying that the late Steve Jobs, with his legendary vision, changed the way we communicate.
CB’s? Landlines?
For the most part both have headstones in the tech cemetery while the iPhone consistently upgrades and parades new models.
But back to “communication.”
Steve Jobs understood that one of our basic needs is communication.
And I know, an oral argument can be made that younger generations aren’t developing their verbal communication skills because of their intrigue with iPhones and the use of texting.
But the overuse of a superb product has nothing to do with the visionary brilliance of its inventor.
So, when you pocket or purse your iPhone, remember the name Steve Jobs. Because of him we can communicate with others at any time, regardless of location.
Steve Jobs highlighted communication.
If you’re an iPhone owner, you have every opportunity to communicate.
Let me communicate to you a Principle, a Plan, a Positive Approach Going Forward, and a Podcast!
Principle
The best way to better your communication is to practice it. The iPhone gives you convenient opportunities to do that. You’re not wedded to a landline plugged into a wall. You can practice anywhere (working in the yard, riding in a car, visiting a friend, etc.)
Plan
Use your iPhone daily to call someone who needs encouragement. Though it’s an “i” phone, remember that “we” are in this together.
A Positive Approach Going Forward
Communication can have a far reaching impact - geographically and relationship wise. Do you need to connect with someone who lives far away? Maybe mend a relationship that you've put off for far too long? The iPhone uproots the distance excuse, no privacy excuse, and the "I don't have time" excuse. Be a communicator!
